Cover chosen for Spectrum 17 fantastic art annual

The editors of the Spectrum annual of Fantastic Art have released the final cover that’s been chosen for the upcoming edition of the publication – Spectrum 17: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art.

Spectrum editors commissioned world-renowned calligrapher and alphabet designer Rick Cusick to handle typography duties.

Editors Cathy and Arnie Fenner normally do 5 or 6 comp covers each year for the publisher and the distributor to review and consider. Gregory Manchess’ Steampunk revisioning of Dorothy Gale & Co was everyone’s hands-down favorite for volume 17. The artwork was originally painted as a demo for Rebecca Guay’s Illustration Master Class in 2009.
